Welcome! My name is Kwasi Wrensford, and I'm currently an NSF Postdoctoral Fellow in the Biodiversity Research Centre and Department of Zoology at the University of British Columbia, supervised by Dr. Kaitlyn Gaynor. I earned my PhD in Integrative Biology at the University of California, Berkeley with Dr. Eileen Lacey. My research focuses on animal behavior, wildlife ecology, global change biology, and conservation. I'm also actively committed to natural history education, science communication, as well as environmental and social justice.
I was born on St. Thomas in the US Virgin Islands, and moved to the Southeast US at a young age. Growing up in the south, I became immersed in nature and wildlife, and decided early on I wanted to build a career understanding and protecting the animals we share the world with. I went on to the University of Connecticut, where I completed my B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. In my free time, I enjoy being outdoors, cooking, and making music. Let me know if you have any questions or want to chat! |
